LAWRENCE OGUAMA

Lawrence is a member of the Firm’s Litigation/Alternative Dispute Resolution , International Debt Recovery and Corporate Commercial/Transaction Advisory groups. He is an alumnus of the Faculty of Law, Rivers State University where he graduated as the Faculty’s overall Best Graduating Student with a number of academic awards and prizes to his credit.

Lawrence is well experienced in the areas of Family Law, Admiralty/Maritime Law, Financial Technology (FinTech), Privacy and Data Protection, Intellectual Property Law, Debt Recovery, Corporate and Commercial practice and transactions advisory as well as general Civil and Criminal Litigation. As an Associate at E&P Legal, he regularly advises, appears and represents both local and International Clients on a wide range of transactions and commercial dispute litigations in various Courts of records in Nigeria.

With bias in FinTech Law, Lawrence has also advised and represented FinTech Start-up companies on several aspects of FinTech in Nigeria, including but not limited to aspects touching on Crypto currencies and Blockchain payments, lending and wealth management. He holds a Certificate in FinTech Law and Policy from the Duke University, United States and is knowledgeable in the key regulatory and policy frameworks guiding major aspects of FinTechs in Nigeria.

His key attributes are his legal knowledge, commercial awareness, selflessness and absolute dedication to the delivery of value to all Clients. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association; NBA – Section on Business Law and an alumnus of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy, Switzerland.

Prior to joining E&P Legal, Lawrence had garnered significant experience in three other notable law Firms as well as the Corps Legal Aid Group, Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, Jigawa State Chapter where he headed the Group’s Research Team.
