EHIZOGIE ESEZOBOR
Ehizogie is the Senior Partner of the Firm. He oversees the Firm’s entire Departments, Teams and Operations. An alumnus of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, Ehizogie has cognate experience in Litigation/Alternative Dispute Resolution and Transactional Law practice.
Ehizogie is a seasoned lawyer with vast experience in the field of Maritime/Admiralty Law, Election Petitions, Telecommunications Law, Energy and Environmental Law, Intellectual Property Law, Corporate Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions(M&A), Family Law/Matrimonial Causes Law, Debt Recovery and general Civil and Criminal Litigation. In his years of legal practice as a Solicitor and Advocate, Ehizogie has advised and represented a large number of Clients on complex commercial disputes and transactions arising within and outside Nigeria.
As a stellar Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Ehizogie has routinely appeared in various Courts of records on behalf of foreign and Nigerian clients and argued several contentious matters, the bulk of which have raised serious and recondite issues of Law. Due to his sound advocacy skills, Ehizogie has been described by his peers and colleagues as one of the strong forces to be reckoned with in the Nigerian Civil advocacy space.
As a Solicitor, Ehizogie is knowledgeable in major aspects of the Nigerian Law and has regularly advised and represented the interest of Clients in a wide range of transactions affecting them. He has advised foreign and local Clients on transactions cutting across Mergers and Acquisitions, Ship Finance, Projects/Corporate Finance, Telecommunication, Energy as well as Securities. Ehizogie’s skills in these transactions have been of immense benefit and importance to Clients due to his perfect application of Nigerian law to these transactions.
Prior to joining E&P Legal, Ehizogie was a Partner in a foremost reputable Law Firm headed by an erstwhile President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), with focus on core Litigation.
In addition to his proficiencies in diverse areas of legal practice in Nigeria, Ehizogie also holds a Certificate in Marine Claims from the Lloyds Maritime Academy; Coracle Tutorship Certificate (Accredited by the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS), United Kingdom; a Certificate of Achievement in Loss Prevention and an Introduction to P & I insurance both from the North of England P & I Association (NEPIA).
A member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ehizogie is also an International Associate of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, Young & International (a division of The American Arbitration Association).
He has also held a number of leadership/mentorship positions in the course of his career in legal practice.
